But what about gangster games? Bhai the Gangster is an action game featuring a gangster protagonist. Not only is it a gangster game, but it’s also one that’s set in India.
Premise and Presentation
The story of Bhai the Gangster is quite common in most gangster movies. In the game, Bhai used to be a gangster in his city, but he eventually chose to leave behind his life of crime to become a good member of society. However, the enemies he made in the past have caught up to him. One of his enemies is known as Kancha and he decided to hurt Bhai by having his girlfriend killed. Your objective in the game is to help Bhai get revenge by finding and killing Kancha.
The game is rendered in 3D, and the models and animation are quite good. There’s great attention to detail when it comes to making the models look Indian. The background textures are pretty distracting due to how prominent they are, and the developers barely tried to make backgrounds look seamless and realistic. While the menus are in English, the entire game is voiced in Hindi. The game also features very Hindi-sounding background music.
Gameplay and Features
If you’ve ever played any of the Grand Theft Auto games then you won’t have any trouble getting into this game. The game is open-world which means players have free reign on their actions as they play. There are many missions to accomplish, but the player can choose to only do the story missions if they wish.
Players can ride vehicles like cars and even helicopters. The combat in the game is pretty standard. You’ll start out with just your fists but you can acquire weapons like guns as you play. The game is impressive due to the inordinate amounts of blood available, however. People who enjoy the violent aspects of the GTA games will love this game.
Gangsters in India
The most important thing this game has to offer is its cultural representation. In terms of gameplay, graphics, and storytelling, Bhai the Gangster is a pretty standard game that sometimes falls even below average. However, if you’d like your games to feature more Indian characters, music, and other cultural signifiers, then this is the gangster game for you.
